      Find a New Hobby:

This can be something as simple as cooking a new meal a few times a week or participating in a family activity. Our son started making bracelets for his friends at school. Simple colored pipe cleaners with letters beads with their names on them kept him busy for hours. You want to find something that engages the mind and something with a goal to be achieved upon completing the activity. With an activity that ends with a goal helps the person get a sense of confidence and helps better persons mental health.

          1. Good article, I have suffered with stress and anxiety. When I was a teenager I started to work with horses and horseback riding. I found that it was a good way to be outside and made me feel like I had a purpose. I also was on my phone less and couldn’t wait to go out and see the horses.

I did this to find a new hobby and not be anxious. It was also a good form of exercise and lost some weight too.

          2. Hey thanks a bunch for this post!

You don’t know how much I actually needed this post as I am struggling with my mental health, the stress at times is getting a bit too much!

I’m definitely going to be trying to add some of these into my daily routine especially getting more of the fresh air and exercise. For increasing self confidence I’ll need to work on something that’s achievable and satisfying!

            • Sariyah thank you and please take care of your mental health even if you have to seek help. We didn’t know the appropriate steps to take with our own son until we just did it because we hated seeing him suffering. I believe with the ongoing technology “which we can NOT stop” it will get worse. His counselor said since the epidemic the anxiety and depression for the younger generation has skyrocketed. I know the more weight I lost through exercise I felt better overall. Our son is to the point where he wants to be all by himself a lot. Those bracelets he made gave him a hobby and when he gave them out to his friends it must have given him a great feeling because those where his most talkative nights. I hope you all the best and thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment.
